The Malaysia Craft Exposition 2013 hosted at the Miri Handicraft Centre promotes native crafts to tourists visiting the City
The expo includes 69 craft entrepreneurs, of which 56 are from Sarawak, selling textiles, woodwork, ceramic, basketry and pewter craft. This expo is an ideal venue to promote Sarawak cultures and traditions, such as Iban basketry. The Expo was also timed well for locals
to buy accessories and items for the upcoming Gawai celebration in June.
There are educational and interactive craft
programmes held daily from May 18 to 26 during the duration of the expo. The craft expo opens from 10am to 11pm, and is jointly organised by Miri City Council and the Malaysian Handicraft Corporation.
